BIOGRAPHY

 

COLONEL ROBERT M. HOGAN

   

Colonel Robert M. “Mike” Hogan assumed duties of the Commander of AFROTC Detachment 004 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Jan 2004.

The colonel entered the Air Force in 1978 after graduating from Officer Training School.  He was assigned to the 81st Security Police Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, as a security police shift commander working security and law enforcement.  For the next ten years the colonel was the shift commander, operations officer and commander of a myriad of security squadrons in England, Germany, Turkey and Spain.  In 1988 he was assigned as a staff officer at the Security Police Directorate for Air Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, where he worked plans and programs, and the personnel security program.  In 1994, the colonel was reassigned to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, as the Commander of the 81st Security Police Squadron, where his unit garnered the “Best Medium-Size Security Police Squadron in the United States Air Force.  In 1994 he assumed duties as staff officer at the Directorate of Security Forces, at Headquarters United States Air Force. In 1999 he attended the Inter-American Defense College and graduated in 2000.

The colonel assumed duties as the Director of Force protection for Joint Task Force-Southwest Asia at Eskan Village, Saudi Arabia.  In this position, he advised the commander on force protection and anti-terrorism programs and policies. The colonel subsequently assumed duties of the United States Air Force Attaché in Quito, Ecuador in 2002.  As the senior Air Force representative in country, he advised the United States Ambassador on a host of security and force protection issues and developed a solid working relationship with the Ecuadorian military.
